Holly Wasson is a marketing executive with more than 20 years of experience developing successful strategic, multi-platform marketing and communication campaigns for a wide-breadth of consumer and business-to-business brands. She specializes in translating market and consumer insight into actionable opportunities and building high-performing teams.
Holly has worked in-house or as an agency partner for a plethora of industries—from media, sports, entertainment, food and retail to travel/tourism, CPG, financial, business services and higher education.
As senior vice president of Brand and Marketing Communications at SunTrust Banks, Inc., Holly led the company’s brand and advertising strategies, creative and message development, media planning and purpose integration for brand and demand campaigns. During her tenure, she extended the brand through the launch of SunTrust Park.
Prior to SunTrust, Holly served as senior vice president, group director of Marketing at Edelman, building and leading a new marketing team within the PR agency. She and her team developed and executed campaigns for brands including Arby’s, Cracker Barrel, Georgia Pacific, Visit Orlando and the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.
Holly began her career at Turner where she built and led an internal marketing agency servicing the portfolio of brands including CNN, Cartoon Network, tbs, TNT, Adult Swim, TCM, HLN and Turner Sports. Prior to building that team, she held various marketing roles at Turner Entertainment guiding consumer and B2B campaigns for TNT and tbs. Holly started her career in the CNN marketing research department.
In 2018, Holly launched her marketing consultancy and joined the We Are Rosie marketing network: the advertising marketplace of the future. As part of We Are Rosie, Holly is serving as interim CMO for Altio, a software solutions company, where she and her team have renamed and rebranded the parent company and created marketing and messaging strategies for their two products.
Over the past year, Holly has also rebranded two higher education programs targeted towards working adults, developed a brand positioning, messaging strategy and plan for a B2B business services company and created strategic sales enablement tools for a Fortune 500 financial services company.
Holly is an Atlanta native, holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia and is an avid and obnoxious Dawg fan. Hiking is her favorite pastime and she and her husband plan trips around the U.S. and the globe to take on the best trails.
Holly lives in Marietta with her husband and two kids. On the weekends, you’ll
either find her on a hiking trail with her Golden Retriever or cheering (a bit too loudly) at her daughter’s soccer game or her son’s lacrosse game.
